Bummed beyond bummedy-bummed (but not surprised) that the film I happened to find in my new-to-me Kodak Pleaser II came out bunk; the peel-off picture stock is awesome! But alas, I think time conquered the few shots of HS144-10 that were still loaded up.
So: I took to the internet and found this incredibly inspiring and industrious young man on Youtube, and thought I'd give it a go with some Fuji Instax Square film I'd been keeping in the fridge.
Montage: bungling in the dark (I was in one of our closets, using an old black tee-shirt as a changing bag), cursing in the dark, a few "Are you okay in there?"s from the GF, more bungling.
Here are the results, which range from "rejected NIN album cover" to a picture of Jen that I quite like:
Also, it's worth nothing that the piece of plastic I used as a backing for the film was cut from a grey folder that has a black cross-hatching on it...you can see it in the above picture, and eventually, it faded into the background. So. All in all? A hassle, sure, but the end results are pretty fun, and I'm happy I got to make this ol' camera work!
I mean.
Kinda.
