post 921. new work published.

Have a new piece over at Unstamatic, as part of their Unconditional Acceptance Call:

"About a month ago, we put out a submission call with more or less one rule, and the rule was for us: We’d accept every single submission we got. Why? We don’t know. Because we’d never it seen it done before (though it may well have been), because it felt like something of a statement (about what, we’re not sure), because it was funny (it was). So we opened wide the gates for 20 brief minutes, and in those 20 minutes we received more than 400 submissions."

My piece, Start 'Em Early, is here, but hit the random button to see some great stuff by some great artists!

post 918. soor ploom.

I got back into writing rather recently: I needed to get over some mental blockage I had put on myself, and once I did, I rediscovered how much fun I could have just losing an hour or two a day just...writing.

I've been very fortunate to have my stuff included in some great publications, but today I received my contributor's copy of Short and Sweet, an anthology from Soor Ploom Press. My piece, Turning a Mountain Back into a Molehill is included, and this is the first time my fiction has appeared in print since...well, since college. Literally last century.

Many thanks to the folks at Soor Ploom, and I couldn't be prouder to be placed inside a publication that has so many other great, great talents.

post 917. new work published.

I've been playing with an Urth lens adapter in order to have my precious, precious Sigma 30mm lens stick onto the end of my Sony a7. The results were vignetted and looked kinda cool. I processed these pictures through the trusty ol' Hipstamatic app, since said vignetting felt like it took the pictures in a more vintage direction. Lo and behold, these shots with Mary are now live over at Fuzz!
